Welcome to the website of the 'Friends of the Suffolk Regiment.'

Formed in 2008 by two dedicated Suffolk Regiment historians, the 'Friends' have gone from strength-to-strength over the past sixteen years.

An 'umbrella' organisation consisting of like-minded individuals who care passionately about keeping alive the history of the Suffolk Regiment and all who served within its ranks, the Friends are truly unique. There is no other regimental association like it in the world, producing dedicated publications on a Regiment that ceased to exist almost sixty-five years ago.

In our comparatively short existence, our members have done numerous things to ensure the Suffolk Regiment is not forgotten. From assisting in the purchase of key items for the Regimental Museum, to erecting new memorials to men of the Regiment, to writing numerous books on Regimental History, and lots more, the Friends have ensured that unlike other disbanded and amalgamated regiments, that their history has been passed onto a new generation who are proud of what their forebears achieved during the 274 that the Regiment was in existence.
